Denim Day Afternoon Day
Start Time: 2:00pm
End Time: 3:30pm
Thi syear at GCCASV we are wearing Denim to let our fashion make a strong statement about sexual violence.
Denim Day began as a protest in Italy in 1999 when a judge overturned a rape conviction because he felt that since the victim was wearing "very tight jeans" she must have helped the rapist remove them, therefore implying consent.
Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against the myth that sexual violence occurs because of clothing.
Support Denim Day by wearing your jeans, taking a photo, and uploading it to join the online campaign using the hashtags #denimday #startbybelieving #svam #metoo #gccasv
(there will also be a drop in denim decorating space operating through the month so come along and get creative)
We are hosting a refreshments drop in and display of denim art
